Mera Peak
Description
The Panch Pokhari and Mera Peak climbing trek is an exciting and challenging adventure that takes you to the remote and beautiful regions of Nepal. This trek combines the stunning natural beauty of the Panch Pokhari lakes with the exhilaration of climbing Mera Peak, the highest trekking peak in Nepal.
During this 21-day trek, you’ll experience the diversity of Nepal’s landscapes, cultures, and wildlife. The trek starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and takes you through the lower Solu region, passing through charming villages and dense rhododendron forests. As you ascend higher, you’ll cross high mountain passes and glaciers, with breathtaking views of the Himalayas in the background.
One of the highlights of this trek is the visit to Panch Pokhari, a cluster of five holy lakes located at an altitude of 4,100 meters. These lakes are considered sacred by both Hindus and Buddhists, and pilgrims come here to take a holy dip during the festival of Janai Purnima.
Another highlight of this trek is climbing Mera Peak, which is a challenging but achievable climb for those with a good level of fitness and experience in basic mountaineering skills. From the summit of Mera Peak, you’ll have incredible panoramic views of the highest peaks in the world, including Everest, Kanchanjunga, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.
Throughout this trek, you’ll encounter a variety of flora and fauna, including Himalayan thar, musk deer, and the elusive snow leopard. You’ll also get to experience the unique cultures and traditions of the Sherpa and Rai communities, who are the primary inhabitants of the region.
