Prakash Sundash
Meet Prakash, an adventurous mountain guide born and raised in Lukla, gate way of the Mt. EVEREST Himalayas in Nepal. With an insatiable thirst for exploration and a natural inclination towards sharing his culture and customs, Prakash began his journey as a mountain guide at a young age.
In 2003, during the Golden Jubilee of Mt. Everest, Prakash embarked on his first mountain journey. Since then, he has been traversing the Himalayan ranges, learning new areas, trails, and routes to provide the ultimate adventure to travelers who seek the thrill of the mountains.
His deep knowledge of the mountains, combined with his friendly and welcoming demeanor, has earned him a reputation as an excellent guide. He is always eager to share his passion for the mountains and the unique culture of his homeland with visitors from around the world.

I met Prakash many years ago during his travels in Europe, which is why I didn't hesitate, not even for a millisecond, to contact him the moment I decided to go to Nepal. Prakash not only helped us prepare a perfect trekking trip but also modified it according to our preferences and needs. After a couple of calls and correspondences, we ended up with a splendid, privately customized 21-day long hiking plan, which included an Island peak and 3 high passes to Everest Base Camp.Throughout the entire trip, we obediently followed the detailed itinerary that we received before arriving in Kathmandu, and I must say, it was truly great. Our guide, whose name was Dawa, was wonderful and very helpful. He picked us up at the airport, and before our trek, we spent some lovely time in Kathmandu. Dawa, together with the porters we met later in Lukla, knew how to cooperate with our demands, listened to our requests when possible, and the cherry on top was that they were hilarious and joked around with us all the time.
We all had a beautiful time full of smiles from cheek to cheek. If I'm being honest, all those we met during the trip will stay in our hearts forever thanks to their hospitality and pure behavior.
A big plus was not only the perfect environment and mood we had during the trip but mostly our and their knowledge of English. I was so happy we received a lot of additional information about the nature, culture, and mindset there. Furthermore, their medical knowledge and medical equipment were of a high quality level, so we felt 100% comfortable and safe every day. Simply put, we didn't have to take care of or stress about anything. We were just out there enjoying the beauty of the mountains and nature.
Additionally, the weather conditions were good. We returned to Kathmandu as planned, so we had an extra 7 days to spare and see more of Nepal. Dawa prepared another trip for us to an Australian camp in Pokhara to see the Annapurna mountains. I can proudly and highly recommend Sundas Treks agency.
I am truly looking forward to coming back to Nepal as I want to explore more because there is much more to see.

In 2016 Prakash was the lead guide for a trek & climb I was doing to Mera Peak, over Amphu Laptcha Pass and climb to Island Peak which was over 21 days.
It was a great experience and the memories will stay with me forever.
Prakash is a significant part of those memories. He was great. He is passionate about his country and cared for his countrymen - the Sherpas with us.
I found Prakash a thoroughly professional guide. He’s a charismatic guy. Fun and a good conversationalist. There were a number of weather challenges on our trip and he worked through those challenges with sound and safe decision making.
When you do a trip like this the guides can either enhance the experience or diminish it. Prakash and the team he was leading certainly enhanced it.

In April 2018 our family of three travelled to Nepal to trek to Mera Peak which is a non-technical peak. Under the leadership of Prakash, and with his team of assistant guides, we trekked via the Khari Khola Pass which was once the regular route to Everest. The trip duration was 24 days. We had quite unseasonal cold conditions and Prakash and his team ensured we were safe, kept the group trekking at a comfortable pace, regularly checked our acclimatization and followed up on any requests we had. He has an excellent command of English which leads to clear and open communication. This is an essential skill in the high mountain areas. He liaised with the locals, tea house operators and other groups in a friendly and honest manner. He is trustworthy and has earned the respect of his immediate team along with the wonderful porters, who made this trek at altitude, achievable. we will definitely come back with Prakash and his new venture.
